2026 STEAM Summer Camp Counselors & Assistant Counselors

Art Explorers/Terrific Scientific (STEAM4Kidz, LLC) offers an extensive array of 6 weeks of full day STEAM Summer Camps (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) and provides an exciting and safe atmosphere for kids grades K-8th.
Camp location this year is Vieja Valley School. Camp Dates: June 15-July 24, 2026.

Full-time positions are currently available for STEAM Camp Counselor/Instructors who have experience in ART, SCIENCE, CODING, GAMING, ENGINEERING, ROBOTICS, or RECREATION and love teaching and working with kids. Our positions are full day/full week, Monday-Friday. Full-time pay is $880-$1040 per week (depending on experience and education). We also have part-time Recreation/Aftercare Counselor positions and Assistant Counselors positions available. Pay rate is $18 -$22 per hr.

Camp Counselor or Recreation/Aftercare Counselor Requirements:

Minimum of 1 year of college
Experience managing/teaching groups of students, Grades: K-8th.
Can follow directions and problem solve. (i.e: submit cover letter as requested).
Punctual, organized, and HIGH Energy.
Loves working with kids, enthusiastic, patient and directive with campers, adheres to safety standards.
Strong communication skills and Team player
Must have car for reliable transportation.

Applicant MUST LIVE in the Santa Barbara area (Goleta, SB, Montecito, Carpinteria), due to road construction in and out of Santa Barbara. You will NOT be selected for an interview if your resume or cover letter does not indicate you live locally.

Other Desirable Skills or Certification:

Art or Engineering experience/skills
Digital Game and Programming skills
Mechanical skills to assembly projects, kits, etc
Teaching Certification (Elementary or Jr. High)

Assistant Counselor Requirements:

Mustbe rising High School Junior or Senior, or Senior just graduated.
Loves working with kids, enthusiastic, patient and adheres to safety standards
Experience working with kids ages 5-12.
Can follow directions and problem solve. (i.e: submit cover letter as requested).
Punctual, organized and have reliable transportation.
Strong communication skills and positive energy.

STEAM Camp Training and Structure:

We provide paid training in our curriculum, methodology, and classroom management prior to start of camps and train our staff extensively. All camp curriculum and supplies are provided. Our camp programs are well organized and easy to follow. The day is planned, structured & busy! We have 2 project activity times in the morning and 2 in the afternoon. There is an outdoor lunch play time as well as morning and afternoon recess. Our camp instructors are KEY to a fun, successful and enrichment learning opportunity for young campers and require skills in leadership, organization and professionalism.

Instructors for After School Enrichment K-6, 2025/26 year

Instructors needed to teach Afterschool Enrichment classes for Gr. K-6. This is a part-time afternoon position M-F between the hours of 1:30-5pm, approximately 10-15 hrs per week. STEAM4Kidz, LLC (Art Explorers/Terrific Scientific) is a small local business that provides Summer Camps and Afterschool Enrichment Classes in Art, Cooking, Engineering, Robotics, Digital Games, Coding, Sewing to local elementary schools. We provide curriculum and training to our instructors for all classes. We provide curriculum and training to our instructors for all classes.

Qualifications:

• 1-year solid experience working with groups of children ages 5-12

• Minimum of 1 year of college

• Background in EITHER Art, Cooking, Engineering, Robotics, Programing, Science, Sewing, Digital games

• Enthusiasm for teaching and working with kids

• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Computer Skills: word, excel, google docs, email

REQUIREMENTS

• Able to teach 3-5 afternoons per week between the hours of 1:30-5pm.

• Must have car, cell phone, computer.

• If hired, must obtain Live Scan clearance with school districts.

Duties

• Requires car to drive to school locations and transport all necessary supplies and materials to teach class.

• Teach our curriculum in afternoon classes at specific local elementary schools. Exact time TBD.

• Provide a positive, caring and well managed classroom delivering our proprietary curriculum.

• Communicate with program director, parents, classroom teachers, and school personnel as needed.

• Communicate via email and phone promptly.
